Is it Monday again already?
Time for Fracas Monday Melee .
1: The Misanthropic.
(Name something - about humanity - you absolutely hate).
This week I have been mostly hating everything.
2: The Meretricious:
(Expose someone or something that's phony, fraudulent or bogus).
BT so-called broadband … HA!
3: The Malcontent:
(Name something you're unhappy with).
My crappy fucking internet (dis)service provider.
4: The Meritorious.
(Give someone credit for something and name it if you can).
My brother, Phil, for finally tracking down Belgium's Carrot Museum (he'll be posting on it sometime this week if you're curious - right now though, he seems to be attempting the risible task of making Belgium seem interesting).
5: The Mirror.
(See something good about yourself and name it).
I haven't (yet) killed anyone from BT.
6: The Make-Believe:
(Name something you wish for).
A broadband connection that actually works.
The more observant among you may have noticed something of a theme to this week's melee. My normally crappy British Telecom broadband disservice has been disconnecting me every twenty seconds all through the weekend (if anyone wondered why I haven't been posting).
By the way (for those of you who know I believe the truth about something can be discovered in its anagrams) an anagram of British Telecom is "Besmirch Toilet", which kind of sums up the service they give me.

Poor Dive. How horrible to not have internet access on a weekend, or any time of the week. Shoot the donkey.
Hee hee.
It was so frustrating, Robyn. The poor donkey does its best, but currently BT "have no plans to upgrade the exchange" to a two-oxen model, so I'll have to suffer.
glad you're back dive
Yes of course we noticed, Dive and all missed you horribly. So it's mainly Broadband that's getting you down then (sorry) I am actually in true sympathy. Though luckily temporarily, mine went for a morning. I was LOST.
Dive, what a breath of fresh air, that someone ELSE in the world uses the word risible. I have loved it for years and have been stared at quizzically and nearly spat it out of my vocab in frustration. I love words as you do. Depressed you will be when i tell you that a national newspaper once edited one of my pieces for using 'endeavour' they inserted try, not because of space oh no but because it was more understandable to the majority. So by definition, the understanding can only diminish in my view. Rant over. Happy connections x
You buggers, I was sure there was a line in The Life Of Brian when Pilate was trying to question Brian about his "waid" on the Palace and mentions his fwiend Biggus Dickus. "Do you find his name......risible"?
Can't find it in my screenplay so I will have to bloody watch it now.
You have to bribe the squirrels who take the messages to cyberspace.
Full, that's funny. Now I have to watch it too---and I've packed it.
Rich: So am I!
Lynn: Excellent rant!
Sod the lowest common denominator. Let us rejoice in our lexicon.
It seems that Phil has picked up on "risible", too:
Phil: Yes it IS in there. And I'm sure watching that scene again will prove no hardship.
Sassy: Unpack it and watch it. You know you want to. And good luck with the move.
Divey Boy!

Now you know how Kate feels, right?
I do indeed, Groover. And I also have Kate withdrawal symptoms. I can't wait 'til she gets bck on line.
Ame and Robyn: Much as I love being invited over by the cream of American Womanhood, I must visit Japan first.
Remember, I speak a little Japanese; I don't speak American.
