Random Norfolk - Seaside Still Life

Hoorah for gnarly old stuff. I love the texture of this old timber post and those huge, rusty metal bolts.
Click on the pic for a hi-res texture-fest.
And no, I didn't put the flint on top of the post, or the mussel shell on the sand; it's all as I found it on one of my many walks up and down the coast.

I LOVE this. The texture is so pronounced when it's enlarged. Nicely done, sugar! xoxoxoox

Thank you, Savannah. I'm a great fan of weathered textures (probably because I'm pretty much weathered myself). xoxoxoxox

Wonderful "found still life" with amazing textures. By the way, have you visited my darling sister Shazza's facebook page to see her recent photos? She is amazing, but has not been "blogging". She has found some similar textural subjects. You have to look under "My therapy" on her FB page.

Great photo! The colors of the flint are wonderful. Reminds me a bit of a beetle. I love finding mini-scenes like this when I'm at the beach, or in a field.

Neetzy, I'm sure I have more "found art" in my photo stash. I'll see what I can dig up.
I keep an eye on Shazza, on FB, though I do miss her blog. I am so glad Idiosyncrazies is such a success. I wish I could shop there.

Thank you, Miss M. I hadn't noticed the beetle-shape of the flint but you are right. Finding art in nature is one of life's great pleasures.

"Gnarly old stuff." I'm guessing it's one of those artsy self-portraits then? :P

Hahahahaha! Thank you, Vanda. I needed that.

If people didn't find beauty in gnarly old stuff, I wouldn't have any friends.
Random Norfolk is lovely.

Haha, Petrea. From somebody so patently un-gnarly that is too funny.

I'm glad you like the photo series. I'm trying to give some kind of cumulative accretion of the local atmosphere.

You're succeeding. But do you really want tourists descending on your serenity?

dive said...

Only if I can choose who they are.

Me, Savannah, Neetzy, Vanda, Shan, Ms. M and all our significant others.

May we stay at your place until I get the Blickling purchase worked out?

I'll clear the spiders out of the shed. I'm afraid the spare bedrooms are a gym and a recording studio. Ah, the dumb bachelor life.
