Random Norfolk - Scarecrow

Either he's off duty or there's something in the barn that crows crave.

Or maybe, the scarecrow is playing hide and go seek with
the crows...

Looks like the scarecrow is taking a snooze--or pretending to...
I keep wondering if he "awakens" at night and strolls around these buildings?

SAvannah, I think he'd be pretty easy to find, standing there, arms akimbo.

Ms.M, that is a truly scary thought. Now I'm going to have nightmares!

That is a spooky scarecrow.

Isn't it just?

I haven't seen a scarecrow in ages. Nostalgic and creepy.

It kinda spooked me, staring down the farmyard like that. I'm not sure I'd want to venture any closer.

Crows like shiny things. My guess is there are lots of shiny things hidden in that building behind him! He is certainly not guarding any crops!

Neetzy, by the look of the farmyard it's a pretty shiny-thing-free zone.

You've piqued my interest though. I wonder if I should drive over there and sneak a look in the barn. Probably not a wise move with the scarecrow on watch.

This is just creepy. It reminds me of scenes from "Never Let Me Go."

Brr, Robyn. Scarecrows are fine out in the fields, but when you meet them off duty they can be pretty creepy.
Kazuo Ishiguro (author of Never Let Me Go) lives and writes in Norfolk. Weird, huh?
