Norwegian Blues

Work work busy busy chop chop bang bang … etc.

Thanks to our delightful storm, half of our schools are currently scattered over divers parts of Norway today, so I have my hands full at the moment.
I'll post when the fan is finally fæces-free.

No, NorWEgian Wood!

Or is it Norwich Wood?

Aw heck, any wood is good, right?

I miss you!

Someday I'll be back in the thick of things....hmmmmmm, maybe I already am?

;)
XOXOXOXO

Thank you, Savannah. It is much appreciated.

Cheers, Utsav! I'm home now after one of the more hectic days of my working life and I'm staying here tomorrow and keeping my head under the parapet.

Ame! There you are! It is unbelievably good to see you again and to have a scattering of upper case mayhem in my comments box.
You'll always be in the thick of things; things just couldn't survive without you.
XOXOXOXO

Goodness that sounds alarming, particularly as if i remember rightly there's a lot of glass in them.

It was mostly fences, walls, a couple of flat roofs ripped off (no bad thing as I can replace them with a decent pitched roof) and trees all over the grounds.
No girls were harmed in the making of today's episode.

lol glad to hear it! The weather is terrible here tonight. Sounds like a mini tornado outside. I fear for my wheelie bin. Seriously though we have a 'flying bedroom' and i'm more than a little concerned it could live up to its name. Eek.

Before I forget...the theme song from The Wire is a Tom Waits bit. I think you said you liked him, yes?

ARGH. Bad weather. The prairies of America are fraught with it...and of course, I live right in the midst of it all because I am just THAT savvy.

Yes. Thank you Canada, you bunch of Twats. Well said that man. Hear hear.

So was it as bad as that big storm in 1987? I was living over there that year - it was pretty amazing.

Gosh Dive, when I started reading I thought you were making sushi. The weather must be horrid indeed for Lynn to be fearing for her wheelie bin. I guess that there aren't that many "divers" parts of Norway; as opposed to "diverse" parts of course.
Looks like you will have work until you die Dive, not just until you retire.

Lynn: The storm is battering my house this morning, so I'll keep an eye out for your bedroom sailing past and try to grab it if it does.

Maria: I'm a huge Tom Waits fan, but no amount of respect for anyone's music would induce me to watch television.
And yes, living where you do seems not so much a lifestyle choice as a form of climatic masochism.

Hi, Axe Victim! In retaliation for this storm I'm not buying the new Neil Young album. Though I wish I knew of some crappier Canadian artists to boycott because I like old Neil.

Kate: Nowhere near as bad as the hurricane. It's just a shitty winter storm; we get 'em from time to time. You just learn to nail everything down and go hide in a hole with some beer and porn … er.

Mme: I have a crap pension, so I do indeed plan on dying before I retire. I've always been pro-choice in that matter.
As for "divers"; I always like to use that spelling ("divers alarums" … etc), because the OED calls it "archaic literary" and that's how I like to think of myself. Hee hee.

Are you part of the clean up crew? :D

Hey, I could come and help you if it means flying to Norway!

You take care!

Thanks Dive. I can report the flying bedroom is still attached. My goodness the house creaked all night though! I went into my son's room about three times just to check he was still there. I don't remember winds so bad.
I can also report the sad demise of the wheelie bin during the night. However it has been re-positioned four times and blown over each time. At present, it is horizontally sad and, sod it, it's staying like that.

Joy: Thankfully not, though I am constantly sending out construction detail drawings and organising builders for emergency repairs. It is a bit fraught today, though not as bad as yesterday.

Lynn: I'm glad to hear you didn't end up in the land of Oz, squashing a witch.
I locked my wheelie bins in the shed (which luckily is still in one piece, though the falling elder tree didn't miss it by more than a foot).
