My Cheeks Are Cracked, My Cock Is Drown'd

"Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! Rage! Blow!
You cataracts and hurricanoes, spout
Till you have drench'd our steeples, drown'd the cocks!
You sulphurous and thought-executing fires,
Vaunt-couriers to oak-cleaving thunderbolts,
Singe my white head! And thou, all-shaking thunder,
Smite flat the thick rotundity o' the world!
Crack nature's moulds, and germens spill at once,
That make ingrateful man!"

In case you'd not guessed, it's still fucking windy here.
Most of an elderly elder tree is currently having a lie down on my back lawn, yet the blossom on my plum trees and the stupidly early flowering cherry still clings on for dear life.

They say the gales will die down tonight, which means Old Dive goes apeshit with the chainsaw tomorrow morning.
Any passing minibus full of unfeasibly attractive college kids better watch out!
Perhaps I'd better play Puerto Muerto's "Lost Soundtrack To The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" loudly to warn them off.

Anyone paying attention will have surmised that I'm still too busy sorting out repairs to our storm damaged schools to post anything coherent.
King Lear and Leatherface … Hmm … An odd combination of post subjects but when I'm too busy to write you'll have to put up with whatever seeps out the cracks in my mind.
Sorry.

"Old Dive goes apeshit with the chainsaw"...well, that woke me up.

I had to re-read the post to make sure you weren't about to smite fundys, whiny children, or yappy dogs.

Crikey, Dive. It's them blasted ingrateful germens agen, cobber.
They are wont to spill stuff throughout; elder trees an' all.
Happy chainsawing; you'll have firewood for next season, and a bit less shade.
Bloody germens!

Don't worry about having good content to write about. I think some of the best is whatever seeps through your mind on to the page.

T: rest assured; if any fundys, whiny children or yappy dogs stray into my garden tomorrow morning, they are following Steve Buscemi straight into the wood-chipper!

Monsieur B: The elder will make a nice logpile for toads and spiders; nature's pest control for my garden, though of course our spiders are harmless, unlike your monsters!

Thanks, Rich, though like all seepage it does tend to get kinda messy at times.

Sorry to hear about your elderly elder tree. And no spiders are harmless. If they haven't hurt you yet, it's just because they are patiently plotting the best way to kill you.

But they're so cute, Robyn!
And they eat up all the crappy critturs like houseflies and the bugs on my flowers.

Hee hee, Savannah.
I've been singing old blues songs, like "Blow Wind, Blow Wind, Blow My Baby Back To Me."

Hee hee, Ame! Take a Dive indeed!
This storm's been raging three days now and I was beginning to worry there'd be no "blowy" jokes.
Thank goodness you're back to inject some sanity into Blogville!

Good enough post for me, Dive! Be careful in the morning. I hate those things. I'm hoping for some sleep tonight, it was so loud last night! The wind, not your chainsawing. Brr.

Cheltenhamdailyphoto said...

Oh yes i totally agree with Scout. Spiders stare at you while they plan. Brr again.

Chainsaws are fun, Lynn, though if I take off a leg you can say "I told you so."
And spiders are our friends.

Spiders are an example of God's grotesque taste in product design.

Pity you're skipping the new Neil Young album, Dive- it's really good. Go buy this one and we'll boycott the next Celine Dion or Shania Twain or Avril Lavigne album.

Thank you so much for the list of crap Canadians, Utsav. Now I can buy Neil again!

Make it stop, Dive! It's messing up my hair. Grrr.

I thought we were supposed to have springy weather by now!

Hee hee, Joy.
March: "In like a lion; out like a lamb" according to tradition, so it's conforming to type pretty well so far.
I do hope it calms down tonight. I could do with the sleep.

There is something in wind that just seems so...personal. It is like it is mocking you or something.

But, then...yeah...I tend to be a bit paranoid. Ignore me.
