Tom Purdew Pt.5 (cont.)

After yesterday's post and the subsequent comment-fest about Peter Gabriel and my cock, a quick rummage in the attic produced these:
Good old Pete at Knobworth in '78.

"Oi! How come my microphone smells like your cock?"

"And did you piss on my shoes?"

Hey ho. I'll have another rummage at the weekend. I'm sure there are photos of Zappa and the Boomtown Rats and the Tubes somewhere in the attic.

Oooh i'd like to see OLD Bob. Very much! Got any of the camera turned you-wards, Dive? Yes you have! Don't lie. We WANT them. We demand them. he he.

You shall not get them.
Though I'm sure I have a couple of a very young Geldof; I just can't be bothered to spend all day in the attic finding them.
When they turn up I will post them.

No it's a horrible job isn't it, the attic photos and it's always the last place you look. Don't blame you. I do want those early photos of you though Dive, i asked one of your mum the other day; you playing the trumpet i think... so far haven't got it but oh what fun. Oh go on! ?

We all were, Sassy.
One day you'll be as old as us.
You can practice by buying hairnets and cat food and collecting bitterness.

Trumpet? Lynn, I'm going to have to have a stern word with my Mother.

Boom Boom Boomtown!!! there was a show on local TV here in Boston called Boomtown when I was a kid. The star was this wannabe cowboy named Rex Trailor. He played the guitar and sang goofy songs to goofy looking kids dressed with kerchiefs and cowboy boots.

I saw this guy a couple of years ago - he's about 87 yrs now and he was on stage at a local park singing a very pathetic song with tight pant and looking like he had a codpiece or a penile implant. He was strangly funny but scary at the same time.

Hey maybe I should do a post about this. Thanks dive for the idea

Hee hee. You SHOULD, Rich!
He sounds truly creepy!

Why is Gabriel wearing a bib? I'll never be able to listen to him again without thinking of that pic.

How did my mum take listening to motley crew?
Actually not to bad. Had a heart attack at first and then pronounced i was going to hell.
Eventually she accepted our musical tastes and i even caught her out a few times singing the gunners classic " i used to love her but i had to kill her" whilst ironing.
I got my revenge, i made shrinkies out of her Evie records.

Hee hee hee, Kate.
I'm gonna have to look up Evie now.

No, don't do it. I should be the only one who's having nightmares tonight. Hence the late night blog cruise.

Kate's right, Dive. Don't look up Evie. You'll regret it and will never be the same.

How cool to have such musical memorabilia!! I am so jealous. I have squat. WAAAA and now you can't even sneak in a camera or they will confiscate it.

That is too damned funny, Old K.
I've nicked it, That's going up on my notice board in the office.

Well, ALL of my soft feelings about Gabriel have just drifted away while I wonder why he looks like a busboy at Denny's.

I am trying to think what I wore in 1978.

No. I fucking refuse to even go there. NO!

Hey, I'm just back from meeting Gene Wilder, but I'm knackered so I'll post that tomorrow.

Don't panic. It was only a book signing, but I am such a huge fan it was a big moment.
