Raisin d'être

I just love typos.

Please. The only slushie worth eating is a blue raspberry one. But, I recall a time when anything with rum in it was my reason to live...

Oh, hee hee, Maria. Excellent!

Why is raspberry ice blue? This has always bugged me. I know red is usually cherry, but c'mon...blue??

Vanda said...

Yeah, there is no 'u' in flavor!

dive said...

Lulu: Thankfully we do not have blue 'flavours' over here (except in those sickly vodka-based kiddie drinks they sell in clubs).

Vanda: Hee hee.

So glad you like typos. I've been saving up this one I saw last week on a mobile detailing van: We do CARS, TRUCKS, SUV'S, BOATS, HOUSE'S

Makes me shudder.

How do you know it was a typo, Dive? Maybe it really is some Willy-Wonka-style delight tasting of rum which makes you feel... enlightened when you eat(?) it.

Maria's too funny. So's Vanda. I've been handing out candy all night. I'm defeated. Besides, my WV is "moron."

Ms M said...

My WV is "colos", which is a little too close to "colon"; this is probably due to all the discussion about junk food. Which is raison d'etre for some folks ;)

Mum: I'll bring 'em over this morning.

Lupine Lady: Hee hee! Call the Apostrophe Police!

Pea: It was in Cromer. I think you know that's all I need to say. Hee hee.

Petrea: That's gotta be the best WV ever!

Ms.M: I've never understood that but it seems to be true. When we go for coffee in Norwich on Saturday mornings we have to walk past a McDonalds and - this is before nine o'clock in the morning - it is invariably full (and I mean so full they have to sit outside on the steps of the plaza) of obese families eating vast quantities of burgers and fries.
Shudder!

Brr - thing is, Dive, these are probably not typos but misspellings which makes us both shudder even more, I know. Brr again.

I like Peahen's explanation.

I used to buy rum raisin ice cream when I was a student at Bible school because alcohol was forbidden. It made me feel I was getting away with something bad.

Lynn: I'm going to have to go back there when they're open and try one for myself, just to find out what a raison is.

Robyn: You rebel! Hee hee.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this.

Dive, either this will hurt you or it will be your new favorite blog, as it is mine.

OW!
Petrea, that really hurt!
Hee hee hee.
I particularly loved "God".

I think it was Dave Barry who said he finally realized that some people use quotation marks as decorations.

dive said...

As for the people who waggle their fingers in the air to indicate quotation marks … Grr … I think that's some sort of sign code for "Please slap me hard."

Petrea Burchard said...

Okay. I'll stop.

dive said...

Hee hee hee!

Okay. I confess I love a good rum raison! I lived in Haiti for three months (in early 80's) and they used real rum. I'm not sure where they got the "raisons". We didn't have much real food there.

MmeBenaut said...

Hee hee. Now I want icecream!

dive said...

Neetzy: Real rum sounds yum! I very much doubt the things they are selling to kids on Cromer seafront contain anything so delicious.

Mme: You'll soon be able to enjoy ice cream in San Francisco with Katie.
I am so jealous of you both.
