It's that time of year again.
The Goodwood Revival Meeting. Woohoo!
Some splendid photos (and sweary Dive-ness) from last year's Goodwood can be found by clicking on
this link.
As for this year:
Phil and I usually drag up as WWII RAF officers, but this time around it was vintage mechanics.
Me and my DB6 … HONEST! … yeah, right.
Your co-host for the day's festivities: "Camp Phil".
Tin mug, flat cap, stopwatch, tea … All a growing boy needs.
This is what we're here for.
Oh, and this …
But mostly this.
And splendid frocks.
Rich will be glad to see the return of the hat.
A chap's not fully dressed without a hat.
I remember pumps like that.
More gels in frocks. Lovely.
Phil almost buys an Aston Martin
Reversing at speed.
The Yanks are here, enticing our gels with nylons and chewing gum, the cads.
The harvest is being taken in.
There's a Hurricane overhead, so all's well.
Let's enjoy some racing.
If you hate vintage motor racing, pretty frocks and chaps in hats, don't bother tuning in tomorrow as there's very likely to be more of the same.
Toodle pip!

I'm so jealous of your adventure! I just went went up to Salem with my sister and our hangovers to hang out with the witches. Our costumes consisted of comfortable walking clothes and dark sunglasses to hide our bloodshot and luggage laden eyes from the cruel world. I would have much preferred to have donned a saucy 40's to 50's era frock and bantered away with dashing men in the company of vehicles with smooth lines.
Ooooh! Witches! Fun!
You mean you didn't go in pointy hat drag?
You're more than welcome to pop over to Goodwood in a yummy frock, Fresh. It's on every year and it's chock full of nostalgic Yanks, and I could do with a gel on my arm. Hee hee
"Toodle pip" is a new one for me, but I like it. I'll look for occasions to use it.
This looks like so much fun! And you look very cute in your white duds, Dive. I'm glad you had a nice day.
"Cute!"
Heeheeheeheeheehee.
Thank you, Robyn, and toodle pip!
I would have put on the pointy hat drag but my primary concerns in preparations were:
remeber to put on underwear...
don't drive into other cars...
Perhaps I'll work the pointy hat business around Holloween..
I do like dressing up in yummy frocks... and being arm candy... hmmm...
I want ALL of those dresses now. I just know I could do some swanky steppin in that polka dot number.
And Dive...you look so handsome and dashing.
I like the cars and the girls/ladies and you two look rather dapper all dressed in white. What a great time. thanks for sharing this dive.
Girls do look so spiffing in nice frocks, just as guys do in hats.
Bring 'em back, I say.
Yay, pretty cars! And did you notice, the DB6 is saying FUG ME with its licence plate.
Hee hee, T.
I must confess I hadn't noticed.
Well spotted.
