WTF Monday

Victorian fake gargoyle tacked onto the side of the Palace of Westminster.
Pretty apt for the building that houses Parliament.

Where Am I?

Or rather: where was I when I took this exceedingly poorly exposed photograph?

If I'm a little terse today, it's because it's freezing here and due to get a whole lot colder (Siberia is coming to visit) and my back is still in agony and I'm going down with a cold which means I keep sneezing and each sneeze leaves me doubled up on the floor in pain and swearing like an Old Dive post, and Christmas is coming and you know how grouchy that makes me at the best of times.
So please cheer me up by making wild - or even educated - guesses at the photograph's location (no, it's not Hobbiton; I think you'll be surprised).
Toodle pip from Grumpyland.

Saturday Statuary - Feather Hat

Jealous of the English Governor's feathery headgear, Tarquin improvises.

Fa - Fa - Fa - Fa -

Ooooh, bop.
Doh doh doh doh doh doh doh doh,
Fa - fa - fa- fa - Fashion …
We are the goon squad and we're coming to town (beep beep).

Mister Bowie was always a master lyricist.
And Old Dive is always a sucker for a good outfit.
Found this lady crossing Piccadilly and simply couldn't resist the "Gosh! Love your outfit. May I take a photo?" which invariably results in some nicely thrown poses.

My back is still seriously crocked this morning, but I have to struggle in to the office to get a tender issue out, dammit. Not the sort of thing I can trust to anyone else.
Painkillers and swearing ahoy!

Have a painless Friday, dress well and be careful of your back.

Car Porn Thursday - DB3S

Sweet …

Well' it's Thursday, so it's Car Porn and there's nothing you can do about it except moan. And talking of moaning: I've put my smegging back out slipping on frozen leaves, so I'm here at home swearing a lot and hicking around with my stick.
I'm not going to be hanging around this bloody monitor much longer though, as sitting like this really hurts.
Ow … Ow … Ow … fucking OW!

Goosestep

No reason … I just find geese goose-stepping almost as hilarious as watching soldiers do it.

WTF Monday - Arts Funding

Looks like the state of arts funding has become so parlous that artists are having to take second jobs.

Either that or they're working on a fucking huge canvas.

Hum and Bug

Fuck it! I hate snow with a passion; a passion so intense that the like of it is rarely seen outside of Mexican TV soap operas.
You guessed it. Hiver est arrivé and with it the swearing.
Outside my window this morning the fields are as white as week-old dogshit.
If I had any money I'd get the hell out of this miserable shithole and move somewhere warm.
Donations gratefully accepted.

While I wait for the cash and plane tickets to roll in - and because I know you like that sort of thing and I'm a kindly soul - here are some of the Christmas lights from my second spiritual home of Piccadilly.

Note the hordes of Christmas shoppers. Having taken away all of our money, the government now begs us to "spend our way out of the recession."

Yeah? With what, you fuckwits? We don't all have a forty million pound personal fortune like "Call me Dave; I feel your pain" fucking Cameron.
You've taken everything we have, you utter bastards. You've given it to your friends (£9 billion in UK bankers' bonuses this year alone - and all this mess is their fault) who have hidden it offshore.
Spend your OWN way out of the fucking recession.
Gits.
Can you tell that Christmas is coming? If you're new to this blog, don't worry; it's like this every year.
Bah, and a great big dolloping side-helping of Humbug.

Saturday Statuary - Lighting Man

New uses for old royals …

Our lighting technician today is William the Conqueror,
high up on the wall of the Palace of Westminster, built by his son
but lit by someone with lesser æsthetic sensibilities.

Oh, and it's snowing here today. Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck.
I hate winter.
