As I'm at home in the village today, it'll probably cut me off after a minute or two so I'll just do a quick filler post.
Hokay: the perennial boring question: What reading material is in your bathroom?

Mine has - for the comfort and edification of visitors - a copy of "The Curious Sofa - A Pornographic Work by Ogdred Weary."
If there's anybody in the world who is NOT an Edward Gorey fanatic, this is one of his lovely little books.
Yes it's utterly disgustingly depraved, yet you can sit and read it to a two year old without fear of corrupting them. And look at the pictures, too. It's a cunningly written and coyly illustrated little tome that is only as pornographic as the mind of the person reading it.
It only takes a couple of minutes to read and I can judge how filthy a guest's mind is by their face when they return from their ablutions.
Buy it.
Read it.
See how disgusting you really are.

Hmmm.
I don't keep reading material on my toilet. Once at work, I sneaked into the men's bathroom and left a copy of a book for women--a girly thing with flowers and poetry and crap.
I had a boyfriend that would read a whole chapter at a time while he coaxed it out (sorry to be crass, but it's true). He got hemmorhiods.
Because I'm so addicted to blogging, if I'm on the run to get somewhere I'll take my notebook in with me.
Groover, If I took my laptop into the bathroom I'd never come out again.
And Robyn: Hee hee. I'm shocked at you for sneaking into the men's room but what an excellent trick to play!
Happy birthday, by the way. XX
You're back!
I'm not generally in the bathroom long enough to read anything. And I never considered the fact that some of the posts I read may have been written from someone's toilet. Now that Vic said that, though, I'm going to wonder...
I will be sure to check out the book.
It's a doozy
much like the rest of the girls i don't have reading material in my toilet. I see hubby sneak the occasional magazine in with him but thats about it. I used to have a poster on the back of the door, long and with many words to amuse guests but it was stolen and i've never replaced it.
I guess females just don't hang out in bathrooms the way men do.
I tend to avoid mens bathrooms but am laughing my arse off at Robyn and her little escapade, what a brilliant idea.
Isn't it just?
And you're right, Kate; women don't hang out in bathrooms the way men do … they camp out in there for weeks at a time, usually when my bladder is at bursting point, and they can't be shifted with dynamite!
And they fill the place with hundreds of stinky bottles of crap and tubes of muddy gack and unspeakable bits of paraphernalia.
Actually, I'm glad I live alone now … the bathroom memories give me the creeping horrors.
You don't?
What's wrong with you people?
I'm with the other women. I just don't feel the need to read while I use the toilet.
And I couldn't if I tried. The second I sit down, either Liv or Bing seem to have something very important to tell me.
I have conducted more conversations sitting on the toilet and yelling through the door.....
