WTF Monday - Yet More Inexplicable Classicism

"You want this, huh?
You want this bunch of grapes and this severed penis?
Huh?
Yeah, I know you want it.
Well you can just keep your filthy paws away from my fruit sack, you weird fucking cat/dog/otter-looking thing, you.
As for the severed penis: I don't exactly recall why I'm holding that but as it's way bigger than mine I'm thinking I'll just keep hold of it and you can go find your own."

What bizarre statues you've posted lately! Is this the Sigmund Freud Memorial park?

And now for something completely different:

A case of "involuntary arson"?

Is "inexplicable" the same as "ersatz" in this case? I mean, did someone make this statue in, like, 1954, thinking it might look like something the Romans would have enjoyed?

Ms M, that is hilarious.

Hee hee, Ms.M. England's parks and gardens are chock full of inappropriate statuary, much to my benefit.

I caught the melting Jag on the news. Not only is that England's ugliest building but now it melts cars, too. Sheesh.

Petrea, this is from the 1680s and so, yes, faux Classicism. I'm pretty sure the sculptors of the Enlightenment trawled the classics for the weirdest shit they could find.
