Joining The Enemy

Do click on this and read it.
I love Cat and Girl but this one really brought it home just how lonely it is around Blogville these days.

It echoes.

And the tumbleweed gets everywhere.

So at long last I've signed up to antisocial notworking and opened a stupid Facebook account just so I can see where you've all got to.
Be warned, however: if any of you try to use the word "friend" as a verb I will personally hunt you down and shoot you as a mercy killing.

Hee hee! I love you being on Facebook. Alifan should definitely sign up and then she can exchange stories with my mother (a tender 77 years of age). LOL

But don't you dare stop writing on here - your works of fiction are incredible.

Mum: It is a dreadful and soul-destroying cack-fest of a thing but the idiot children with whom I now work insist on me signing up. I'm not deserting Blogville though.

Mme: Mu is far too busy to get sucked into the dreadful quicksand of Facebook.
I shall certainly not stop writing here; this is my home and you know you are always welcome for a cuppa and a natter by the fireside.

I second Mme; don't stop writing here -- we'd really miss your wicked sense of humor :)
There are some of us who are still blogging and reading blogs....

Hee Hee! Just sent you a note and a request on FB. Lemmings all...

Well, we're glad you stooped and "fr@#ded" us on facebook and I applaud your efforts to keep in touch.
Now, you have to let your Mummy join too. :D

And you might want to "Like" Hog in Armour. I found them on FB about the same time Jarvis had his encounter with the probe.

Ms.M: I live here in Blogville and this is where I shall write anything I have to say (though I confess I've had not a lot to say for months now).
Facebook seems too much like an overexcited child running around and knocking things over. It gives me a headache. Bleah.

Lulu: Shame on us.

Shan: Hee hee. I like the term "fr@#ded."

Lulu: Eek! The pub actually has a Facebook page? That's rather disturbing, but then since I've signed up a whole lot of things have disturbed me. It's a scary place.

I hear you. Blogville seems deserted lately. I wonder why I bother? When I do visit I make a point to stop by the Small Glass Planet.

I would be honored to "befriend" you on Facebook. I must admit it is a fun place to start a political rant!

We bother because it matters, Neetzy.
Besides, it's more relaxing over here; none of that awful shouting of constant new messages coming in from all directions.
As for my ranting, I'll probably keep it over here, where I can rant to like-minded people and friends rather than idiot strangers.

You have a Facebook page? Hmm. I don't know how to search for you there, but I'll try. I'd like to befriend you (nice choice of words, neetzy). Seeing as we're already virtual friends, let's cement the deal.

And Dive, you can change the amount of notifications you receive--that's in your preferences somewhere.

Aw, you found me. Thank you.

Hi, Petrea!
Yes, I've managed to track down most of Blogville. Sheesh, you guys have been really busy over at Facebook. I feel less lonely here in Blogville knowing I can find people when I need them.

For some inexplicable reason you made me think of Mr. Rogers. A grumpy, antisocial Mr. Rogers. Yes, I'll be your friend.

Facebook is an interesting place. I have no idea who half of my friends are.

Word of caution: Whatever you do, don't play Farmville!

Katherine said...

LMAO! That's awesome! I've never seen Cat Girl before, but now I need to.

BTW, glad to see you on FB, even though it might be a short lived residence for you.

Vanda: Most of my real friends won't go near Facebook but I'm sure glad my blog friends are over there.

I certainly won't be getting sucked into Farmville; I recall the days of the original Sim City and the endless wasted night. Sheesh!

Katherine: Cat and Girl is spiffy. I get it delivered daily via my dashboard.

I don't do any Facebook applications. Too many opportunities for viruses. Also, when you agree to use a FB app you agree to give up all your information, which means you agree to give it all your contacts. I'm sure most of my friends don't protect me that way, but protecting them is the least I can do.

Thanks for the advice, Petrea. It's stuff like that that I need to know.
