It was indeed spiffy weather for the world's biggest and best fancy dress party.

Lights … Camera … Action!

The lovely Glamcab ladies are back again and ready to transport you.

Or even to dance for you.

I say!
What stylish swimwear!

Ding dong!

The day was full to the brim with wonderful hats on beautiful weemen.

And serious hair-dos.

And fab frocks.

And even a parasol or two to keep out the sun.

And some East End folk down by the fairground.

Not forgetting some sage advice.

Even the Dad's Army crew turned up, with a splendid Captain Mainwaring looky-likey.

Breakfast of champions!
Free single malt all day every day for whoever might wish to indulge.

Some picnickers brought their own furniture.

While others simply basked in a glorious day of vintage motor racing with that peculiarly English twist that we love so much.

And so we bid a sleepy farewell to this year's Goodwood costume-fest.
See you next year!

Oh! I love it ..what a great post, only thing is that was my era, so fond memories, but envy that I cannot wear things like that now. ha ha..
Hee hee. I do remember the old photos.
What a great event, sugar! What did YOU wear? ;~) xoxoxoxo
Same as last year, Savannah. I'm a cheapskate. Hee hee.
xoxoxoxo
I love these posts every year. The costumes are so fun, and what an interesting event. Wish we had something like this here in boring old Ohio.
Come on over and join in the fun, Robyn.
Wonderful post, but I'm with Savannah, incomplete without a snap of yourselves :-)
Hey, Pea!
You know full well what we look like. When are you going to cozzie up and come and join us?
I love the ladies sleeping on the lawn. Perhaps they had their fill of the single malt?
Looks like a fabulous day! Fun to see the all the "dress-up". Was food provided to go along with the "breakfast drinks"?
Delightful, dahling. Sew veddy Blitish.
hee hee, Neetzy.
Neetzy:I rather liked the gentleman's bowler hat resting on his stomach. They do indeed seem to have overindulged.
Ms.M: The food - as always - was fabulous. All organic and locally produced and utterly delicious (and so MUCH of it).
Petrea: Hee hee. Sew veddy indeedy.
Those bathing suits are supposed to be costumes? I think I saw MINE in there.
Love these pics and really wish I had one of those red and yellow outfits of my own for Halloween. And I'm with Katherine on the swim suits. I think those are back in style!
And you know we want to see pics of you and Phil in your jump suits looking dapper.
Katherine: Hoorah for stylish retro costumes. So much nicer than today's fashions. Be proud that yours is that cool.
Shan: If only those fashions really were to come back into style. I would cease my curmudgeonliness and start smiling again.
