Not 500 Words

Hey ho.
Much as I am still jumping around and whooping with delight at no longer being stuck on a train for seven hours a day, all that time stuck in a cramped little seat unable to move did give me the time to write my weekly story.
So … no story this week.
At least not yet, anyway. Busy, busy, busy.

Henceforth 500 Words will be an occasional rather than a weekly series. I'll post up the stories as they come in and then set the next sentence.
In the meantime …

I'm relieved! I cannot commit to anything on a weekly basis, but an occasional challenge might be fun! I'm so glad you are enjoying your Smallville commute!

Thanks, Neetzy. The commute to Smallville is certainly less stressful; just a gentle drive listening to Radio 3.

Not a bad compromise at all, I'd say! I like this move for you so far! Have you gotten your clock switched back to regular time yet or are you still getting up at the crack and falling asleep in your dinner?

Shan: Unfortunately my stupid body clock is still waking me up at 4:40 AM and sending me to sleep - as you say - face down in my dinner.
I'll give it a few more weeks to adjust and then I'll start to look at getting a life.

7 hours a day by train--wow. At least you weren't driving all that way.

Pilgrim: yes, that would have sucked even more than the stupid trains.
On my leisurely drive to my new job in Smalltown I am cheered each morning and evening by the traffic reports telling me how many hours extra delays I would be suffering were I still on the commute from hell.
This week, three out of five days had an extra two to five hours added on for jumpers and failed lines. Sheesh! How on earth did I survive all those years of that crap?

Its December...time for a little inspiration, Dive! BTW, two of my 500 words will soon appear in a local anthology. I should have thanked noted where the inspiration came from!
