I have never watched this series. Not once, not even a glimpse of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. based on your review and the article you cited, I may have to rethink this possible failure on my part. xoxoxox

It's alright for you guys; you have a life. For those of us without a life, Buffy is a great comfort. Like alcohol, only smart, funny and sexy.

This makes me wonder what people who have televisions in their living rooms actually watch on them.
I don't have a telly downstairs, just a teensy one in the bedroom for watching the weather forecast first thing in the morning. I tend to watch movies and DVDs on my big Mac instead.
I have complete boxed sets of Buffy, Frasier, M*A*S*H, and rather less credibly, the Sopranos, the early Simpsons, the X-Files and Red Dwarf, plus more black and white and "foreign" movies than most stores and I must confess - seeing what's on the TV schedules - that I'm certain I get a way better deal re-watching those than I would if I watched what passes for TV these days.
It's a strange world.
We got rid of our TV in 2009. But that was after Buffy, I think. We pay a lot for TV here (usually over $125 a month for basic cable). When we considered the recession and our need to cut expenses, we didn't think it was worth it, not for the amount we were actually watching. I hear that TV's gotten better in the last three years. We might get it again someday, but I'm in no hurry.
Getting rid of your TV was a wise move, Petrea. I don't know who told you that it's been getting better over the past three years, but looking through the schedules in my newspaper I can see nothing whatsoever worth switching the damned thing on for. "Getting better" from such a dismal starting point still means 24 hours of utter dross.
