My many Macs have been misbehaving while I've been at work and I got home yesterday to find they had produced a new baby. A teeny-tiny sooper-cute ickle MacBook Pro. How sweet is that?
Apologies for the mess all over my desk. And yes, that's the Big Box of Buffy (again). Yesterday was the one-hundredth anniversary of the death of Bram Stoker, which gave me the excuse (as if one were needed) to start my annual non-stop seven series Buffy-fest; one of the greatest pleasures of not having a life.
Anyhoo … There are now eight boxes of Apples in my house. I SO need a girlfriend to nag me and shriek "YOU CAN'T AFFORD THAT!" and "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU NEED ANOTHER COMPUTER FOR?"
Yeah, right …
In the meantime I'm off to play with the new baby. It really does demand my attention …

The pesky things seem to breed of their own accord in my house, Savannah. Perhaps if you left a couple of Macs alone together you'd find a nice little laptop like mine suddenly appear.

I have been enjoying it, Robyn; so much so that I'm still on the sofa in the same position as the second photo (except it's dark now). It is a great advantage being able to take the computer anywhere … unfortunately I only got a few feet before the comfy sofa called me.
I really should get my fat lazy arse up and do chores and stuff, but hey; why stop when I'm having so much fun?
Oh, it's so nice you like children, so you can be responsible for the rearing of your Macs' offspring. I want an iPad I can use to draw with/on/whatever. I'm sure you can use the baby to take notes at meetings.;-)
Yup. For me, typing on an iPad results merely in a messy and smeary screen and lots of typos. I like full sized keys that I don't have to look at when I type.
Phil's got the latest iPad and I have to confess it's pretty awesome, but I'm old fashioned and like to tote Photoshop around with me. The new baby is only a little bit bigger than his iPad but I can do "real" work on it and not have to continually wipe the screen clean (a touch screen is anathæma to anyone with OCD … sheesh! Those SMEARS!).

The anniversary of the death of Bram Stoker? I'll have to get out my old copy of Dracula again. Or get some "Buffy" DVDs. I only saw the early part of that series.

Ms.M. I re-read Dracula last week in honour of the guy without whom my life would be Buffyless.
I'm almost through series two already and once more grinning like a fool and laughing my socks off at the sheer brilliance of it all.
I still maintain (even after all these years of watching them over and over) that Buffy and Frasier are the two best TV programmes ever made.
All human life is there (and the undead, too of course). If you buy the box, be sure and get the UK uncut version. There were three versions made: one for the US market (that went out as a tame kiddie's show over here as all the good bits and just about all the jokes got cut out), one naughtier and bloodier version for European prime time and the proper uncut version that was shown late here. Accept no substitute.
Thanks for the "Buffy" advice. Frasier was one of my favs, too.
