Ah, trust Katie to find a sweet treat! Petrea - only the really good chocolate with high cocoa percentage gives me migraine. Red wine will, if I have more than a teaspoon or two. White wine definitely will - it's the sulphur dioxide they put in it. I can eat fresh cheeses but the matured ones will knock me down and blue cheese will put me in hospital. Watch out for the orange and other citrus fruits too. That's about it for my list of food allergens that give me migraine.
Yummy chocolate. me to with the migraines....horrible thing. Dive say's he gets them from me...sorry....he also blames me for his love of tomatoes and oranges as I ate them all the time when I was pregnant with him in Malta...
Oh, and another thing: I spent ages finding out what Monday was in Thai and loading the Thai script onto my computer so I could write WTF (Monday in Thai) and now I'm at the office it's come out as all question marks. That is too annoying.
I'm bummed that I didn't actually go into this store, as we had just spent time in a patisserie where I ate a yummy French-style macaron and bought cookies to eat by the pool. I love this saying though, as I've been happily living by these words for years! Plus there are so many different kinds of chocolate, it's easy to find something to fit your mood (milky, bittersweet, dark, dark with bacon, Crunchie . . .). Thanks for looking up Monday in Thai -- the symbols show up on my computer!
Sorry, I didn't mean to make it into a migraine moan-a-thon, Dive. I sincerely thought we were here to discuss chocolate facts, like the sign says. Here's another chocolate fact: dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate. It's empirical.
MMe, I didn't know that about cheese. Bummer. I just found the best little Italian deli. But I don't have that trouble with citrus and white wine (in small quantities).
Hi Dive! Well, I recognized that language right away as I spent a while staring at it on KT's picture about the fat vacuuming or whatever they were calling lipo. heehee
I'm confused why chocolate is so come and go for me and many others. We really MUST need it sometimes. I actually only crave Cadbury brand. I'm a milky milk choco lover. Dark and semi-sweet can horrify my simple tongue.
As for migraines...yes we like to compare migraine stories...I get them from low blood sugar and bright light. And when the two are together-I think I am probably going to die. :D
Mum: Don't do too much until Phil brings you your mask.
Katie: Mmmmm … Bacon chocolate. You have introduced me to so many yummy things. I'm glad you can read the symbols. I'm back home now and it does just seem to be the office computers that cannot see them. Weird.
Petrea: Dark chocolate rules! Yum! As for migraine triggers, I am soooo lucky that chocolate, cheese and pork (very common triggers) don't set me off. I can't live without them!
Vanda: One word: Yum!
Katherine: That would make a great sampler, framed on the wall.
Shan: Hee hee … Well spotted! Yikes! I cannot conceive of a world where someone can take or leave chocolate, AND suffer from migraines! That is so unfair! I do hope you find a cure for both conditions.
I used to get migraines all the time. I once had one that went for six weeks! ... They were about to scan my noodle when it stopped.
Shortly thereafter, they began to get scarcer and scarcer. Nowadays, I'm unlucky if I get one or two a year. I'd like to think it's because I'm less stressed, but it could just as easily be because I simply don't have enough (living) brain cells left to support one.
Neetzy: I think it's criminal that they put those things in the shops as soon as Christmas is over. They should give us a chance to lose a little Christmas Binge Weight before putting out Easter eggs, curse them.
Ms.M: Dark chocolate is so luscious. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Lucio: You are so lucky to have reduced your migraines. No matter how many brain cells you might have lost I suspect you still have more left than most of us.
Robyn: Isn't it just?
Ame: YIKES!!!!!! The ghost of Santa Clara returns. My comments box hasn't seen so many upper case letters or exclamation marks for years. How's tricks?

My doctor says I shouldn't eat chocolate because it might cause migraines. I've got a chocolate fact for him: he's out of his mind.
Mine too, Petrea!
You get migraines? I hated to find out the doc was right about red wine and caffeine. I don't even want to tell him that.
I get migraine-like headaches. They are caused by life.

But a little of what you fancy does you good!!!
Hey, what is this? A migraine moan-a-thon? We're here to celebrate living life chocolately.
Mmmmmmm … Chocolate.

OK no more moaning....Yummy Chocolate....and they are not question marks here, but I still cannot understand it, tee hee....
I popped on here because my head and fingers are sore from making lilies with sugar paste....now I will get back to them....

Dive, I can see the Thai symbols just fine. I didn't know what it was until you told me but it looks cool.
One word: Lindt!
There is nothing better (or more addictive) than dark chocolate so laced with the bean, it almost tastes like black coffee.

I love to live life chocolately!
Those little Cadbury Eggs with the hard coating, Neetzy likes too much. Must stop eating!
I love living life chocolately! Especially dark chocolate. This is excellent for a Monday.
And the Thai script shows up on my computer...

"Chocolately" is an excellent word!
