Woohoo, Lulu! I wrote mine on the train on the way home so maybe I'll post it up over the weekend. I'll check yours out, too, but right now it's bedtime for me. Good luck with Hoyt.
Hi, A. Welcome back to Blogville. Things are pretty much the same here as they were three years ago though much that is weird has happened in the meantime. It will be great to have another writer on our 500 Words list so good luck with your story.
PS If you get a chance, Dive and I were having a little trouble with the comments posting to my site - could someone try it to confirm its working okay - even if its just to say hello! :D
I don't know about happy signs, Todd, but I'll bet there are millions of very bored ones out there. I do rather like your angry sign though. He's my kind of character.

John Steinbeck?! That's not fair! I'll have to find time next week if it kills me.
I was in love with that book in my mid or late teens. It's all a hazy memory now.
Hee hee, Robyn. I thought I'd put enough pressure on you with Garrison Keillor last week, but it seems I need to ratchet up the torture a wee bit.
Vanda: Hazy memories are probably the best sort. At least that's what I'm hoping because those are all I have.
Easy peasy. Wrote half of it on my blackberry this morning instead of going back to sleep and waiting for the alarm clock shriek.
Also working on the Hoyt Buford story but cannot get it to come together. Maybe I'm trying too hard.

I had to use the tags to scroll back to make sure that I checked all the rules. But read them I have, and story-brewing I am...
So, I shall stop the comment here and get to it.
{ Oh, and it really is the A. you used to know, dive.. really and truly it is. *grin* )

Heading to Kansas City this morning and thought I would take a proverbial swing at this one.
It does continue this months theme for the absurd-level-of-foul-language and would issue it a rating of M for Mature for foul language.
Sign of Anger
Enjoy!

Well I did it, although it's not really fiction.
Todd: The word verification thing is dropping off the bottom of your pae again so I'll post my comment here:
"Hee hee hee.
Excellent, Todd. I so hope that Sign gets reincarnated as a traffic cop.
What a grin-inducing swearfest. Too much fun."
Where did you learn all that potty-mouth language, young man?
Vanda: I'm now heading over to enjoy reading your piece with my coffee (not bacon-flavoured, I'm afraid).
Makes me wonder if somewhere out there is a Sign of Happiness.
"Oh bless you kind driver, you're so very wonderful." Whoooooosh.
Todd
PS for now the word verification is switched off on my site. If I can't get this code straightened out then I may quest for something simple... lol
