500 Words XXX - This Week's Sentence

This week's sentence is taken from E.M. Forster's 'A Room With A View'.

It is:
'It tasted partly of the paper in which it was wrapped, partly of hair oil, partly of the great unknown.'

Icky, eh?
You know the rules. Go to it.

Everybody say Hi to Adonia and welcome her to 500 Words. She's a real world friend and has just taken the short fiction plunge. Please stop by her blog and show her some love.

Welcome to the club, Adonia! You're almost as quick as Lulu with the stories. Yay! I shall read yours as soon as I have finished my own (so as not to get influenced) and it will be first up in next Thursday's reviews.
Great to have you on board!

Hey, Lulu! Yay you for recruiting more writers! I'm adding Adonia to the cast list over at 500 Words, then I'm heading off to mum's for the day. It's Smothering Sunday over on this side of the pond.
