More Shitty Snow

In Cambridge yesterday, for a very dull, all day meeting at the genome research park. This was the River Cam at lunchtime.

And this is what grown-ups do when they're sick of all day meetings.

Roll on spring …

Glad you got home safe and sound, expect you are digging your way out this morning take care, not sure whether to dig the rest of the drive out or not as the road looks bad out her, may just stay in!

Woops I meant here not her, should have read it through!

Sheesh! Not a bit of blue, even in the cloud cover. Does the River Cam suffer from SAD over the winters?

The River Cam suffers all year round, Speedway, but mostly from drunken students and dumb tourists in punts.

I'm still jealous. It has been about 18 degrees F here (I think we had a high of 28F) and no snow--just ugly cold. I'm in my heavy duty footie pjs AGAIN. Weekend was nice though. Got some walks and photo sessions in with the family.

Ah, but at least you got to wear your heavy duty footie pjs! I have to wear a damned suit and the office heating sucks. When I'm not in a meeting I'm working at my computer in my suit, plus a fleece, plus a thermal lap blanket, a thermal hat, fingerless gloves and a scarf.
Gimme a ROLL
Gimme an ON
Gimme a SPRING!

Criminy, Bob Marley, the sight of the worker bees huddled up in gloves and hats, and fuzzy blankies over their business suits must really impress prospective clients. Why does Brutalism have to be so brutal? Can't they install better windows and heating system?

Unfortunately not, Speedway; it's a listed building and so protected as a modernist masterpiece; we're not allowed to do anything to it apart from replace like with like when bits fall off.
I actually like the building but I just wish the heating worked in the winter and there was some form of AC in the summer.

That sucks that you have to suffer such a cold office. Especially in a suit.

Good to see some folks having fun in the snow. I hope you were able to join them, either there or inside a warm pub.

Ms.M. I'm out of the office most of today, driving across country to sit in a freezing metal site hut and argue with people. Architecture isn't what it was when I joined up.
Yes, we joined the snowpeople in the refectory for coffee, which was most welcome.
