Apologies to one and all who are heartily sick of racing car and fashion photos every September, but it's the one time each year I can step outside of reality and wallow in my fantasy world: the golden age of motor racing (and great frocks).
Back in the real world, the planet is going down the shitter (the same place my relationship just went), though bizarrely and wonderfully, a real Socialist gets elected as leader of a major party so I have someone I can vote for for the first time in decades. Enfranchised at last!
But stuff all that … Incredibly loud racing cars and girls in pretty frocks beat the real world hands down. If you are sick of racing cars and fashion pics, look away now (and for some time to come).

Looking forward to seeing them all again, and nice to see you back blogging…so glad you all had a great time. x
No, no, no, Dive! I love to see your pictures of the cars and lovely dresses. It takes me to a world I may never get to visit. I love to imagine wearing pretty dresses and driving along roads in wonderful cars.
You know I don't care much about the cars, but the people are fun and I enjoy your joy in the event. I'm sorry your relationship tanked, though.
It was indeed a splendid event.
Instead of my usual "post everything in a bunch" style, I shall probably just post single pictures for a while, if only to get used to posting things on the blog again. Sara: I'm with you on the cars, though I don't tend to imagine myself wearing the pretty dresses.
Thanks, Petrea; me too.
Love your photos of Goodwood! Land of handsome, muscular cars, and people who look as if they've stepped out of the 1940s (or 30s).
(I'm also sorry your relationship didn't work out...)
Thanks, Ms.M; me too. And yes, Goodwood is a fantasy wonderland; my own version of Disneyland.
