I really like looking at this, Dive. I find the composition pleasing and the way the crane and the spire just 'happen' to align makes an invisible line to equally divide the picture area. And y'wanna hear another artsy-fartsy comment? The thrust of the crane aiming downward is offset by the small yellow upward-pointing triangles inside of it.
I do like a good accidental composition, Speedway. I was just walking around on the keep roof and noticed the crane swing across. I just managed to get out my camera when it crossed at the right moment. Kinda reminds me of your glorious found art street photos.
I've been wanting that shot for the past five years, Pea. Finally got it! I go up on the battlements as often as I can, even if there's no real reason.As Kryten would say, "Smug mode".

nicely composed!! Well done. You say 'accidental' but don't do yourself down. You had to spot the opportunity and capture the right moment.

In looking at your posts I keep thinking that the original builders of the castle would be impressed and awed. You should all be proud of yourselves.
The original builders only had a block and tackle, Petrea; no happy yellow cranes to help them. I am in awe of their achievement.
