Today is Record Store Day. Get out and score some vinyl!

It's gonna be a cool, jazzy vinyl weekender.

I imagine a lot of towns no longer have a record store. Pasadena has 3! And we're close to LA. Plenty of vinyl around here, just nothing to play it on at our house.

We have lots of local record stores, Petrea; it's really big again here. I got this in my favourite store: Prelude Records, which does nothing but classical, jazz and folk.
I still have my old turntable from my recording studio days. The studio monitors take up most of my living room but the sound through a valve pre-amp playing vinyl is so wonderful it makes me weep for the digital generation.

We also have a number of record stores in Indy. In fact, a whole little "quest" was organized around Record Store Day, beginning at a local coffee shop, then meandering to the shops via sips and bites at area coffee shops, burger joints and craft brews. Also shown were locations outside Indy in Lafayette, Bloomington, Greencastle, and Greenwood. If people actually did it, it must have been a happy, tipsy, musical day!

I suppose it makes a change from buying books, you better come over and sort the vinyl out in the loft? not sure if any jazz ones there, strange that is now my favourite…
Have a good day…

Sounds like Indy's doing it right, Speedway.

I'll digitise this one for you, Mum.
