Sheesh! Looks like I kinda forgot I have a blog.
My prediction for the year appears to have been fairly accurate so far.
First, my alarm clock told me to die.
Really! I looked at the thing last Tuesday and the date doohickey said "DIE". It freaked me out for a second or three, but I decided that maybe it had evolved its own personality and was entitled to its opinion.
It was only when it told me to "MIT" the following morning that I realised I'd dropped it and the thing had reverted to German. I'm keeping it like that so it can tell me to die every Tuesday morning.
So anyhoo … the crappy new year now finds me vomiting blood and pooing it, too, so I'm going to have my own live TV show: "Inside Old Dive's Squishy Bits" to find out what's going on in there. Best diagnosis is just bleeding stomach ulcers so that's what I'm rooting for. I'll let you know.
In the meantime, this (from the unutterably splendid xkcd) made me giggle disproportionately. I do love a good physics joke.
Enjoy!

Your alarm clock seems to have a dark sense of humor...
So sorry to learn you're not feeling well! Here's something to keep in mind during your medical exam

Take good care ~
Hee hee, Ms.M. Gotta love xkcd.
Feeling better right now as the lovely Doctor Amanda is feeding me drugs that suppress the nastiness while I wait for my hospital TV show.
Many thanks to N for his wonderful warm (and funny) words.
xx
Nuthin' funny or deep to say, Dive. I've been thinking about you since this post. I am wishing you well, hoping for less overtime, stress, and torment and a lot more peace and healing.
And your TV show will be an absolute treat.
I hope you are not waiting any longer for that tv show appointment and are popping down to A & E where they will investigate a whole lot quicker and fix you xxx
I'm looking forward to the comedy portion of the show, but I'll have to change the channel when it comes time for the squishy bits. Swallow the wolf and feel better, Dive.
Thank you, guys. Still feeling crappy on an epic scale. They sent me home from work on Thursday for vomming blood and grossing everyone out. I kinda blame it on the wolf; it's making a mess down there.
Let us know what the doctor says, Dive. I'm thinking of you.
We're thinking of you, too....
You are all too kind. Just to update, the lovely Doctor Amanda has been fussing over me (a great reason to be ill in any case) and has stemmed the blood-vomming with a proton pump inhibitor while we await tests. I always thought a proton pump inhibitor was one of the engine components on the starship Enterprise but it turns out it's just something to stop stomach ulcers from bleeding.
It's been working fine so I'm back off to work tomorrow.
Toodle pip.
Good to hear you're being well fussed-over, and that the situation has improved. Keep us posted....
