First time I've been road riding in twenty years. Ten miles to the orifice. Starting out at half-an-hour each way; average 20mph. That's gotta improve.
The thing weighs about as much as a rice cracker. Fuck, it's fast on a good road.
Yes, I know it's in my living room and not my garage. It's my new baby and I want to cuddle it and talk to it.
And no, I do NOT wear lycra (sheesh).

It's pretty dangerous here, too, Petrea. Fortunately, after a few miles of yummy hilly country lane with views over the river valley, from the outskirts of the city it's all cycle lanes as far as the office.
Hahahahahahaha. Excellent, Ms.M. Much as I'd love to be a superhero, the sight of other men of my age and size wearing lycra is a powerful deterrent. Their fat, sweaty, skintight arses looming in front of my windscreen at breakfast time convinced me that I shall stick with vintage style cycling jerseys and baggy shorts. My last shred of dignity is merely dented, not torn away.
