Accidental Art - Workshop Tabletop

You know those moments when you simply have to stop what you're doing, clamber up on a tabletop and take a photograph of it and say "Hot damn! I want that framed on my wall"?

The girl who'd been using the table thought I was batshit crazy until she saw the result. Then she complained that "I can't stop looking at it now!" and shoved a load of papers over it.

No pleasing some folk …

This is fabulous! I hope you do frame it and put it on your wall. It's a one-of-a-kind work of art created collaboratively by unknown individuals who didn't even know they were creating a masterpiece! Years ago I had a poster made of a photo I took of numerous paint drips on the floor of my grandfather's wood shop. I wish I had actual flooring, but I'm glad I thought to take a photo before the house was sold. I look at the poster every day and think of my grandfather.

I don't have a story as good as yours, Katie, or a table as interesting as yours, Dive. But I have a cookie sheet that looks really colorful in the right light.

What a wonderful memory, Katie. Your grandfather's paint drips remind me of Francis Bacon's studio, which was left as he left it; a complete mess covered in paint yet somehow beautiful.

Ooh, cookies! Thank you for that, Petrea. I was going to have fruit and yoghurt for breakfast but now I simply must pop into the village bakery and get a ludicrously unhealthy cookie … or three.

I'm with Katie! Have your photo enlarged and framed!

No cookies here, but I did eat peanut butter on a Ritz cracker for dessert. xoxo
