I have oft enjoyed the drawings of Mr. Searle in various publications. I don't know much about him or his full body of work. I'll look into this post haste. Anyone that can leave a hole in the world needs to be understood.
I've known people who thought they were entitled to wear a laurel wreath, others would would drive butterflies to do the impossible. Searle showed how ridiculous those follies are with beautiful, inspired drawing. But I'd have thought the solution of "0" to the involved math to be cause for celebration - it meant no more nasty fractions to account for.
Pea, you are such a treasure. I got home this evening to find a big parcel containing this year's wonderful calendar. Thank you so much. I have just retired last year's and now my kitchen wall looks happy again.
