Saturday Statuary - Gratuitous Boobage

Meanwhile, on the South Bank, two naked women sit by the river, bewailing the decline of elegance that resulted in their being located by the South Bank Centre, whose utter hideousness only makes them pine more keenly for the unreachable grace of Somerset House away across the water.

A nice sculpture set in front of a building that has had some of its facing fall off. Damn. I like the red swash with the bits of color in it, but that's about it.

The concrete excrescence is one of my least favourite buildings. Had they kept the lines of concrete and glass simple it might have even achieved a degree of elegance, but instead they tried to apply all manner of mismatched decorative shapes to it and the result is a disaster, especially when it faces something as beautiful as Somerset House (reflected in the windows).
